St. Peters spit ban bedford heights teen fined $226 for spitting, Tobacco spitting ban approved in St. Peters. ST. PETERS — A St. Louis suburb has outlawed tobacco spitting in public.
St. Peters' aldermanic board on Thursday night voted to ban public tobacco spitting in city buildings and nearby sidewalks. People will still be able to spit in trash cans, sinks and toilets.
The city's mayor welcomed the ban after seeing a man spit tobacco juice on the sidewalk in front of city hall.
