She was followed by a plain-clothes store detective at the chemists and seized as she tried to leave, but after making her hand back the stolen goods staff let her go rather than call the police, the Sunday Mirror reports.
The 22-year-old has been involved in four shoplifting "puzzles" in the past, but this is the first time she has been caught.
An eyewitness customer said Peaches didn't seem to apologetic or embarrassed.
The customer said: “I was really surprised to see her openly picking stuff up – foundation, mascara, eyeliner – and putting them in her coat pockets and in her Selfridges bag.
“She looked arounda bit but didn’t seem bothered, just dropped them in like it was a normal thing to do."
A staff member confirmed: “Yes, Peaches Geldof was caught by an undercover detective with around £60 worth of make-up... she stole plenty."
They added: “We filled in a recovery note and she has been banned from the store. She wrote down her address and we rang a number to confirm it. I think it was her boyfriend, and we let her go.”
Peaches refused to comment and a Boots spokesman said: “We cannot comment on individual customer circumstances.”
