'Dragon Tattoo'-inspired clothing line revealed, H&M launches 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' inspired clothing line in time for film's big release. H&M is getting gritty this winter. In December, the bargain retailer will launch a new line inspired by the upcoming film "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" based on Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel.
The 30-piece collection is designed by Trish Summerville, the film's costume designer, and will feature leather jackets, pants and boots as well as tribal earrings, ripped jeans and hoodies.
The designs are exclusively based on the gritty pieces worn by anti-heroine and lead character Lisbeth Salander.
"Salander's look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time," Summerville said. "My goal is for women to find pieces in it they love and then mix with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style."
The line hits stores Dec. 14 just in time for the flick's release a week later on Dec. 21.
The film is the first English language movie based on Larsson's "Millenium" trilogy and will star Daniel Craig and up-and-comer Rooney Mara as Salander.
Mara recently spoke about how the character's fashion sense transformed her personal style.
"I have really enjoyed being a boy this last year," said the actress, who covers Vogue's November issue. "Before, I dressed much girlier. A lot of blush-colored things. Now I literally roll out of bed and put on whatever is there." The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, H&M and dragon tattoo costume designer, H&M girl with dragon tattoo,
