"I'm happy to be here," Humphries told reporters when he unveiled his endorsement deal with the watch company. "As you all know, this has been a difficult time in my life, and I'm so grateful [for] my friends at Sector for their unwavering support."
Humphries is joining the company as a paid spokeswoman, ripping a page right from the Kardashian playbook. "I'm really honored to be with the Sector brand," he added, most likely thinking of the $150K check he's getting from the company. "Most of all, they really do have great watches. A portion of the sales will go to my foundation which is all set up to fight against childhood obesity and it's a really great thing."
We're happy that Humphries has a job, especially since it looks like the NBA won't be playing this season. The former New Jersey Nets baller - now a free agent - is still working out for a return to the league once a deal is settled.
"I continue to train every day," he said. "I've been in the NBA for seven years and have built some great friendships. We are all working hard and getting ready… I'm ready for when it happens."
We're glad Humphries has something positive going on in his life, especially since his named will be dragged through the mud on the upcoming season of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York." If nothing else, he at least learned how to hustle for cash during his 72 day marriage to the reality star. Maybe she gave him lessons? After all, no other family in the world is as good at getting their names on everything from clothes, shoes, nail polish, housewares and perfume.
The trailer for the upcoming season of "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" already shows how Humphries will be painted as the bad guy. Kardashian's image has taken a beaten over the past couple of weeks and some are predicting the decline of the family brand. Don't worry, though -- Kris Jenner won't let the empire go down without a fight.
"Kim will be using the show to attempt to rehab her image," an insider said last week. "Kim has been telling her inner circle that she has worked very hard to get where she has, and she isn't going to let her marriage and subsequent decision to divorce Kris Humphries ruin that."
