In 2010, Fortune Magazine published a news article concerning Jerry York. Jerry York told Doron Levin before his passing that Jobs quietly went to the University of Basel to undergo “unusual” radiological treatment on “neuroendocrine cancer” in 2009. York made an agreement with Levin that, during York’s lifetime, the revelation about Jobs’ alleged neuroendocrine cancer would not be released.
Jobs battled multiple medical problems since 2004. That year he reportedly underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer, Apple confirmed to news. In 2009, Jobs under underwent a liver transplant at Methodist University in Tennessee. Jobs is survived by four children and his wife Laurene. “We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” read a statement released by Apple’s board of directors tonight. ”Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”
Apple added “Jobs had battled cancer, and in 2004 had an operation related to the disease. In recent years, illness had forced him to step back from his role as CEO of Apple on separate occasions. He also had a liver transplant in 2009 during one of those medical leaves” Apple confirmed additionally this evening.
Steve Jobs will be greatly missed. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
