Mtv VMA Winners. Music fans across the globe were treated to another another exciting ceremony celebrating the top music videos of the past year when the annual MTV Video Music Awards aired on August 28, 2011.Nominees were announced on July 20, 2011 when fans began voting on their favorites in categories such as best male, female, rock and hip hop video, as well as Video of the Year.
This year, singer Katy Perry led the pack with a total of 10 nominations followed by Adele and Kanye West, who received seven nominations each.
The highly anticipated 2011 MTV Video Awards presentation aired live this year from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Along with live performances by Adele, Chris Brown (in a flying high-wire act), Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Justin Beiber, B.o.B, and Kanye West, also featured was a special tribute to nominee and four-time VMA winner Britney Spears.
In another touching retrospective, crooner Tony Bennet and pop singer Bruno Mars introduced Amy Winehouse recordings commemorating the late singer that rocked the house in tribute.
In other news, singer Beyonce took the red carpet by storm even before the awards show began by confirming rumors of her recent pregnancy and showing off her baby bump to appreciative fans.
