Police Arrest Men Pretending To Get Arrested. Two drunk men in New Jersey have been apprehended by police for pretending to be arrested in the back of a police van.Ryan Letchford and Jeffrey Olsen, aged 21 and 22 respectively, from Marlton, broke into the van, wanting to take goofy pictures of them supposedly in police custody. The duo, however, locked themselves in the van. Police found them inside after a friend, also inebriated, couldn't unlock the back door and was forced to call 911 just before 4am, Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Letchford and Olsen were both then arrested for attempted theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.
Constable Mike Connor said: "It was un-freakin'-believable... I came down and unlocked the doors, and 'Dumb and Dumber' pranced out of the van. They looked a little embarrassed."
Police added that cigarette butts and a "large amount of saliva" were found inside the van.
